Staff is available to help you with every aspect of the building industry from contractor to consumer. Our office hours are 8:00am-4:30pm Monday thru Friday and we are open during the lunch hour. Getting Your Construction Contractors Board License Who needs to become licensed with the CCB you ask? Oregon's Construction Contractor Licensing Act, ORS Chapter 701, requires you to become licensed with the Oregon Construction Contractors Board if you are engaged for compensation in any construction activity involving improvements to real estate. This includes partnerships, corporations, limited liability companies, limited liability partnerships, trusts and self-employed individuals, whether working by the hour, week, job, or "cost-plus" and whether by written contract or oral agreement. To obtain a CCB license: * Complete fully an 8-page Construction Contractors Board (CCB) application. * Apply for and receive registration for your preferred business type (e.g., individual proprietorship, partnership, corporation, etc.) * Purchase a surety bond and attach the original to the CCB application. * Purchase general liability insurance and attach a Certificate of Insurance to the CCB application. * Complete 16 hours of instruction. * Pass an 80-question multiple choice exam. * Submit the specified licensing fee to the CCB with the completed application. The 16 hours of education required by the CCB for licensing is available at our office.
